It's my right so shouldn't I be educated?

With the news late last week that Herman Cain had dropped out of the race I got to thinking.  I know shocking, brace yourselves.  All along I had planned on voting for Mitt, but I couldn't really put my finger on why.  Is it because he's a Republican, he's married, he's Mormon, I think I even heard a rumor that he's a runner, is that true?  All nice things but probably not good things to base my precious vote on.  I don't know anything about his platform, his policy record or what his ideas for this country are.

I came to the conclusion that voting for a man just because I happen to go to the same church or belong to the same political party is the exact same as NOT voting for him for those reasons.  So my mission is to learn more about the canidates and what they stand for.

So Mitt, my vote is still undecided.  We'll see.

  2. Thank you for your honesty. Herman Cain was my first choice too but now I have to find the next best option. The voting public should be educated about the policies and values of the candidates before they put them in a position to either destroy or save the country. Romney has a history of flip-flopping even though he has a good business sense. Newt is more liberal than conservative when it comes to environmental regulation and government involvement in the private sector. Ron Paul would legalize everything and the country would destroy itself faster than Obama. Get as much information as you can before you put your future in their hands.

  3. I like it! The older (and more political) I get, the more I really want to know about the candidates. I don't fall for the face value anymore either. My tops right now are Perry and Gingrich. Perry is way more conservative but he is a terrible speaker. :(

P.S. Cain was my choice too. Ugh.
